My current work is organized around three connected questions:

  1. How should scientific reasoning and discovery capabilities be evaluated with scientist-aligned workflows?
  2. How can post-training and reward modeling make multimodal foundation models more reliable for scientific tasks?
  3. How can foundation models and agents use tools, data, and domain knowledge to support open-ended discovery?
